And on to Kuala Lumpur or KL as the locals call it

On the road again

Leaving the Cameron Highlands and headed for Kuala Lumpur, thats sounds so weird I had heard of this place many times in my life but did i ever think i would be riding our bike there, NO! like so many other places we have been in the world.

Phil took the 8am bus and headed for the big city of KL, we had picked out a hotel this time and agreed to meet there.  Ronnie decided to stay an extra day in the highlands catching up on his blog and Trev and I got some local info on which road to take to KL, the old road, which turned out to have no traffic on it and was very winedy, lots of fun.

What can I say about KL its another big city full of shopping malls, our hotel was near China Town which was good for the markets, Phil got to do some last minute shopping there, then there is the Petronas Twin Towers which were featured in the movie “Entrapment” and they are pretty impressive to see along with the other tower know as the KL Tower.

NO I wanna go to KL

The Twin Towers of KL

Unfortunately we see and hear about this to often in these
parts of the world

The KL Tower

We found the easter bunny in KL
still hanging around but no chocolaty
 to be seen

The Mono rail in KL
Not a very big system when compared with other
cities we have been in
After talking with some of the locals we found out that there are actually three different rail systems in KL and they are all independently owned. So getting from one place to another can in fact mean three different fares.
At last a little respect for our BIG BIKES
Out side he Hard Rock Cafe where many Big Bike Clubs meet each month
Big Red and The Big Fella
get to socialize with some of their family out side the
 Hard Rock in KL
After a chance meeting in he Cameron Highlands with a fellow rider called Moose we are invited to meet on Wednesday night for the BMW Motorrad Malaysia Club. We meet a lot of the guys who all share the same passion as us. Thanks for a great night and all the info you gave us
This is what people do in KL

We found a hotel with a pool
Back in the heat at the coast we consider a pool as important as a bed when we are picking a hotel. This one on the fifth floor or the Radius Hotel right down town was perfect.
Mum and Phil get into the Shopalot thing
There is so much to buy here we think our malls are big but they are nothing compared with shopping around here. All I can say is they must have a lot of spare cash. There is also shopping of different class here. Like the out door markets, then the indoor markets, then the multi level markets that are air conditioned, then the Standard Mall like we would see at home but to top that off you find the SUPER MALL, it's BIG and has lots of splash. I cant imagine what the lease would be on these spaces. But they are all BUSY.

A warning for Chenty to look after her snatch
This is actually a warning to watch out for guys on scooters that will grab your bag as you walk along the side walk.
