Sydney and the Opera House

We went into Sydney for three nights and stayed at our time share. The location was great and we got to park the bike and just walk around. We don't really like being in the cities but this one we just couldn't miss.

WOW
The architecture on this building is amazing for being built in the 1950's

The Opera House was the main attraction for us and I just went crazy with the camera again. The weather could have been better but as it was the sky made for some great back drops.

We were both surprised to find out that the roof is not white but a beige colour made out of over one million tiles that are self cleaning.

Me jumping for joy being at the Opera House, what a cool inspiring place!

"The power of music lies in the power of the human imagination: the imagination that inspires it and the effect it has on the imaginations of its listeners.  A hall of two thousand people can listen to the same music and form two thousand different pictures in their minds," how wonderful.

This picture in my favorite picture it is like nothing else we have seen around the world so far.

The lines on this building look great from so
 many angles

As this place was built in the late 50's early 60's the engineering
is amazing most calculations were made without the
 aid of a computer

The best time to see the Opera house
 as the light goes down

The lighting at night is fantastic

The inside of the Symphony Hall
Stunning in its detail.

The Sydney Symphony was something we just had to go and experience for ourselves, once we did the tour of the Opera House and as luck would have it the Symphony was practicing at the same time,  we decided to go and enjoy the music too so we booked for the next evening.

Founded in 1932 by the Australian Broadcasting Corp. the Sydney Symphony has evolved into one of the worlds finest orchestras as Sydney has become one of the worlds great cities.  Resident at the iconic Sydney Opera House, where it gives more than 100 performances each year, the Sydney Symphony also performs in venues throughout Sydney and regional New South Wales.  International tours to Europe, Asia and the USA have earned the orchestra worldwide recognition for artistic excellence, most recently in a tour of European summer festivals, including the BBC Proms and the Edinburgh Festival.

The night we went they had a guest pianist, Ingrid Fliter, she is from Argentina but now splits here time between the USA and Europe, it was excellent! we just could'nt quite believe where we were!

And No we could not leave without this shot.

Trev always has to get the bike as close to these wonders of the world as possible, even if it is breaking all the rules!!
