A day trip to Freemantle

Remember the Americas cup where they beat the USA
This is the Boat with that Funny Keel
And then there was this guy John Sanders who sailed around
the world on his own 3 times non stop
(he must really get along with himself)

This voyage was recognised in the Guinness Book of Records through the following records:
  • The first single-handed sailor to remain continuously at sea twice around the world
  • First single-handed sailor to round the five southern most Capes twice on one voyage
  • First single-handed sailor to round the five southern most Capes twice
  • Longest distance continuously sailed by any yacht: 48,510 miles (78,070 km).
  • Longest period alone at sea during a continuous voyage: 419 days: 22 hours: 10 minutes
In 1986 Sanders set out again from Fremantle, and this time completed three solo non-stop circumnavigations aboard his 47-foot (14 m) yacht Parry Endeavour, rounding Saint Peter and Saint Paul Archipelago just north of the Equator eac

The local rag that reported it all

Now this is for real.
The seafood looks great but to rich for us.

The Brits were here first and left them one of these

Memories of riding across the Prairies

And there are sheep all over
Remember that other Movie with the Mountain??

Fremantle is a very quaint town

I wanted to give a mention to the gallery we went to here called Glen Cowans Underwater Photographey - his works are so amazing, its so life like so much so that if you wanted to have a fish tank without the work just buy one of his amazing photographs.  His wife also dose video underwater so you could even have the fish moving, I have never seen such color in a underwater photo before,  check out his site www.glencowans.com unfortunately i dont think his site dose his photos justice they are 100 times better in real life, Im a fan.
