Well known lunch spot for Humus! Ronen, Shay, Chenty and Trev. Thanks for the ride guys and the hot coffee stops Shay! |
Our 3rd group of friends we met were Ronen and Efi, (I luv that name) they invited us to stay with them for 3 days, they live in the North of Israel, in a place called Camon, what a great couple also, we have had so much fun in Israel i don’t think we have this busy a social calendar even at home as this, its great. Ronen took us with a friend of his “Shay” out for a ride thru the northern part of Israel, we rode along the Lebannon border stopped at some memorial war sites, checked out a little cafe that served great Humus for lunch and finished the day with a glimpse of the Sea of Gallilee complete with a huge Pink sunset and coffee and cake at Shays house where we got to meet his lovely family, again its so great that we get to meet the local people and that they have time to take us out to see the sights.
The area we rode this day has banana plantations, orange groves, vineyards, yes Israel makes its own wine and its really good, date plantations and lots of farming in the north, apparently when the country became its own in 1947 Ben Gourien was their President and he maintained that it would be green and that they were to plant forests so they did and now it is very green, there are parts that remind me of Europe, the southern areas are desert but it seems softer than the other middle eastern deserts some how, I loved it.
Memorial - The Valley of Tears |
Always a hard place to visit but God knows we cannot begin to imagine what these young souls suffered for their country, I pray that no more lives will be lost. Soon the day will come that we will all realize that fear is not real it is just an emotion and that we will understand that it is our fear that keeps us at war. War in a country is just like the war within ourselves, how do we expect to find peace within our world when there is no peace within our own worlds, lets make a Quest to find Peace within and then maybe one day we will understand what it takes to have Peace within our World. |
Dont be deceived. This country is on constant alert, but it is still a great place to be, maybe because of this, the people live every day, for today, because they live in the moment, that makes them fun to be around. |
