Thanks to Oktay, Ihsan and Ahmet the information you gave us was invaluable, however we still managed to be on the motorway without the KGS card your told us to get and when we did and swiped it the first time the alarm went off, what does that mean?
Marmaris Bikers Club
This is too cool, while we were on Rhodes in Greece we walked past the Turkish Embassy, Trev wanted me to stand in front of the Turkey Flag for a photo but as I did a voice came out of the bushes, "sorry sir your not allowed to take pictures here", oops! So anyway we asked if we could go inside and chat with them as we were leaving for Turkey in the morning, turns out that one of the guys is a Turkish Motorcycle Cop who belongs to the Marmaris Riders club in Turkey and he gave us the name of a guy to meet once we got settled into our hotel. We then met the same embassy guy as we boarded the ferry the next morning and he again told us that whatever help we needed while we were in Turkey he could assist us cause he knows people all over, how great is that, to have a friend who works for the Turkish Embassy.
After clearing customs etc and finding our hotel we headed down to the Escape Cafe where the bikers were having their weekly meet, we met a bunch of them and again the next day and they helped us sort out insurance for the bike and showed us around.
I tell you travelling on a bike you are never alone or on your own, bikers do stick together, they are like family, what nice people, we all exchanged emails and cards, they presented us with t-shirts, hats and stickers for the bike from the Marmaris Club it was really nice and we felt so welcome for our first day in Turkey.
