The Ferries in Greece

Well what can I say about the ferries in Greece?
First thing is there are a lot of them. With over 1400 islands in Greece ferry travel is everywhere. Some run 20 minute shuttles and I don't think there is a schedule it just goes when the captain thinks it should and others run out to the far islands and trips can last 8 to 12 hrs they are well maintained and very efficient for the longer over night trips you can get a cabin or as we did take the cheap seats. You can get good food on board and of course have that meal with wine or even a beer. The ferry pulls up at the concrete dock the back door goes down and in seconds it is off loading trucks and people all at the same time. Before the last person has walked off the ramp the next load of cars and trucks are moving on then off she goes to the next island.
Very impressive to see.
