The Millau Viaduct

So when we left Canada four months ago there was one thing I wanted to do, Ride over the Millau Viaduct. I have seen it on you tube both in the construction stages and completed and let me tell you to see it with my own eyes is quite something.
Some basic facts.
It is 2.5 km long
The tallest tower is 343 meters high 19 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower (thats a record)
The steel deck weighs 36,000 tonnes
85,000 m3 of concrete or 206,000 tonnes
Cost of construction $400,000,000 euro
75 years of service
Structal Guarantee 120 years
Not bad and one other thing it was a fixed price tender for the job.

So that said to ride over it was quite spectacular. When we arrived it was raining so we went for a ride and took some pictures but I realy wanted to ride over it on a nice day.
Well lucky us, when we got up the next day the sun was out and it was perfect.
You have to go see it and ride a bike over it thats all I can say check one more thing of my bucket list.
