Our night in the Desert

Our night in the Sahara!!
It was so quiet, it reminded me of home when the snow falls and how it absorbs the sound - well the sand dose the same thing.
It was almost a full moon and we slept under the stars!

Up at 5am to watch the sun rise, the colors and the quiet made you want to sit and watch it forever could there be a more peaceful clean space on earth?

Our gracious hosts at the camp, they made us so welcome, chatted with us, played music for us and danced with us and made us a hot dinner complete with "mint tea".

Trevor was convinced that the one on the end was going to offer him a couple of camels for me!! He was 30 years old and when trev asked him what he does out here all day long he said, relax, sleep a little, sweep and tidy the camp and prepare for the next guests. He said he rarely leaves the camp and when Trev asked him about a girlfriend he said, "no they're too much trouble and no freedom"!

He seemed completely content, never drank, never smoked, very sureal talking to him. I asked him if he wanted a holiday could he have one and he seemed surprised by my question and said, "sure, i am free to do as i like".
