The Koala Hospital

I guess the first thing to mention is that they are not Bears but Marsupials (just in case you didn't know)

This is the Koala Hospital and long term care facility in Port Macquerie, they have two of these trucks by donations.

This little guy lost a leg in a car accident but it was quite
 amazing seeing him climb this tree.

They say that the main reasons Koala Bears are brought here is either if there has been a forest fire and they have been burnt, they have been hit by a car or chased and mauled by dogs, oh or left by their mommies, or they are sick and we saw all of these cases here.   I can tell you from what we saw they get very well cared for here.

And this sleepy dude has a severe case
of curvature of the spine.

She gets to take them home sometime.

This was a free tour we went on and very informative, this hospital if funding purely from donations, i think they said there was a musician who lives here that has donated a large portion of the funds.  There is one paid employee, the vet and the rest are volunteers.  These bears are adorable.
