Margaret River Primary School And Paul and Janet

Down at Paul and Janets cottage
A nicer place one could not find

And with the dropping temperatures
Chenty loved that Paul lit the fire for us.

We had such a great time with Janet and Paul that day that we decided to stay another day with them, we met these two while we had stopped for a coffee in Busselton on our way down to Dunsborough, they had spotted the bike parked outside the cafe and when we came out we introduced ourselves and shared stories of our world bike travels, it turns out they have an Africa Twin 750 and have toured Europe on it a few years back and were planning another trip to Canada in July – October this year, planning to buy the bike over there and leave it there for future travels.

They have a beautiful home on 10 acres complete with a guest cottage and they invited us to stay, it felt very much like Salt Spring being there, their home is of a West Coast Timber and Rammed Earth design.  When we turned up around 4pm, Paul had the wood fire already going in the cottage for us it was a real delight to be there and to meet them both and just relax and drink “wine” for a couple of days.  We may even meet them in Alaska as we plan to be there at the same time in late July.

We seem to have a certain attraction to Young Kids

Our Blog has the kids captivated
We had agreed to visit Janets school at 11:45 that morning as she is currently teaching transportation around the world to her classroom, her kids are around 7 years old.  As always the bike is the star attraction, we got to ride across the grass and down into the patio area right outside her class’s door!  Trev did the talking and question answering while i got the blog up and showed the kids some pictures, its always fun to visit kids with the bike.

These little guys had the best hats on, all the same, I guess because of the high summer temperatures here they have to stay covered up, something we don’t have to think too much about at home.  Paul had been the Principal of the school for I think he said as long as 20years!  It was a great little school, lots of painted murals and they had planted a wonderful garden using these really neat corrugated tin planters, we are thinking that we need some of those for home!
What a photo shoot

Hay Dad look at us!!

We say good by to Paul and Janet
It will never seize to amaze me as to how many
great people we have met on the road.
Thanks guys we hope to see you in BC some time :-)
