Saying goodbye to Israel!
We are sad to leave Israel, we have had such a great time here and met some wonderful people, Im glad they weren't with us today because to say goodbye in person would have been too sad indeed. Still Im sure that they will visit us in Canada at some point. and we can stay in touch with email. Like Trev said we enjoyed a few hours of reading on the beach, sipping our tea and watching the sun go down with lovely 20 degrees temperatures.
Im not going to summarize Israel like the other countries because I know throughout this blog i have talked alot about this little country already so what I will say is this, its a little country with a big problem. We bumped into a peace worker today and she said, unfortunately what they all have to do is stop the separatism here, take down the walls and the barriers because while they still remain everyone will continue to live in fear of each other, I just hope that they can find a peaceful way to coexist together. They have some wonderful books in their bookstores on so many true stories about wonderful people who are ready and willing to do this and who want peace, there is hope.
Definitely a city that never sleeps but we didnt mind, it was so fun and full of energy, we enjoyed the restaurants, the movies, the shopping, the beaches, the old town of Jaffa, the wonderful waterfront, the "Irish Pub" our local and our great little apartment "The Home" for 10 nights altogether. Its not cheap here, its about the same prices as at home in Canada, so hard on the budget, we had our last falafel sandwich before heading off to pick up our visas for India.
