Some of the locals taking in the sights at the
Roman Amphitheater in Amman |
With the bike packed away and waiting to fly we decided to venture into Amman to see the sights. The last time we had been here we got stuck in a snow storm for two days so we were just held up in our hotel and never got a chance to look around. At the time we never thought we would be coming back but as we have learnt plans change. So after checking out some quotes from companies in India to receive and clear the bike we hopped in a cab and got dropped off in the center of town .

Lady selling soaps and cigarettes on the street corner |
I love to see the locals at work and the markets are the best place to be for this. What always surprises me is that most of the stores sell the same stuff, there is never a label as to how much and there is tonnes of it. But when you ask how much, the number is always there, like a three pack of socks for 5 JDL I find it fun to be in the middle of it and just watch, I must say I still have a problem sticking my camera in peoples faces but hopefully I will get better at that as there are so many great looking characters out there.

And the police are always watching |
The traffic police are on every corner. This one with pen and paper in hand but as we walked the streets here just like in most of the big cities of the world so far the traffic just seems to flow like water in a stream with lots of honking horns and flashing lights but with no one getting mad and shouting at each other and as for lane control, you can just forget that. I am really concerned about the way I will drive when I get back to civilization but thats not yet so bring it on India!!!
