Down to the river - The Jordan River that is

Yes this is "The" Jordan River where St. John the Baptist baptized Jesus.  What you are looking at is Christians from the Jordan side and from the Israeli side being baptized at the same time, God works in mysterious ways.

This location on the Israeli side is only opened up once a year for this ceremony, so this is a big deal and quite lovely to see both countries participating in such a way, it was packed with people from all over.

For any Christian being baptized here in this river at the same place as Jesus was baptized is very emotional.
