The Musee d’Orsay used to be a train station, it was shut down in 1979 and had plans to demolish it but were overturned just in time and it became a listed building. Its immense volumes were transformed into a museum, it is set up very nicely too, a lot easier to go thru than the Louvre, you don’t get lost in it. I cant imagine what these places are insured for. It was fun learning about the different artists and the times they lived in. It would also be interesting to learn more about how they made these sculptures .
