While riding up North in search of warmer weather we find ourselves bouncing on and off the coast.
The roads around here are a little rough on the surface and we are told that it is because of all the rain and flooding they have had but the scenery is fantastic. We love the coast and all the small towns but getting into the hills and riding through the countryside is fantastic also, the trouble with the coastal route is often the road dose not run along side the ocean.

another beautiful sunset
No matter how many I see I will always enjoy them |

Fishing is a big thing here in Aus
and they start young |

All over the countryside these water pumps
are swirling in the wind |

The Cookaborough bird What a wonderful song it has |
|
They are big and people must be mad to
try this but they do!! |
We found this small roadside cafe and when we stopped we had no idea it was a bikers hangout. On entering the front door I spotted these two beauties and had to get a photo. A little later on we were surrounded by bikers all wanting to know about our trip. We were invited home with one couple and we would love to have gone but we had already booked into one of our many timeshares and had to bow out.
We have found the Australian people to be very friendly and helpful with all our questions and I might add that the tourist info places here are great. We had not yet used our Lonely Planet Guide and actually left it in a hotel room the other day as it was just taking up valuable space (it was the size of a brick)

A classic bike I think I have to get one |
|
A flat track racer but I have not heard of this one |
|
Roadies cafe we meet the local riders |
Outside the cafe we get great local info on the best roads around and that is what it is all about. We like to stay off the motorways and travel the back roads they are the best and yes sometimes in Aus we end up on gravel but that is OK to.
