72.0000 Km and time for an other service, I have been getting them done every 10.000 km and it was here again. Ronnie had just turned 100,000km on the Big Fella and he needed one to he also needed new tires so we decided to ride into Bangkok and get them serviced together. We had emailed the dealership a couple of weeks before and told them we would be coming, we had also arranged to have some new video cameras sent to the dealer from Sport Cam in the UK so we where excited to get our hands on them.

What else can I say |
I don't know what it is but this sign and my bike go together so well. I just love riding it and after all these km/s we have become very comfortable on it. I know it will be my limitations that stop it going somewhere not the bike.

This is like the Mecca or Jerusalem for BMW owners |

The dealership in Bangkok not Spain |
At the dealership we were handled with the best of service even though we are a bit unsure of the experience of the mechanics as they all look so young. May be that is because we are getting so old!!
Any way while the bikes are getting serviced Ronnie arranges to have the wheels of Big Fella sent to a tire dealer that he had contacted and gets new rubber installed then we all jump in a cab and head of to the Thai embassy to get the first Visa extension we will need. Here in Thailand they give 15 days when entering at a land crossing so as we will be staying here for the better part of a month we will be doing this again.

Ronnie loads the Big fella again after the service
Shit Ronnie you have to get rid of some of that stuff |
Visa extensions in hand we return to the dealer to find the bikes being washed and service complete. Big Red has new brake shoes on the rear thats the second set now and Big Fella has shiny new tires. All oils changed velves reset and we are ready to go. We just have to pay the bill and that is the best bit !! with the labour rate in Thailand at $22.00 per hour the whole service cost less than $250.00 Now thats a good deal!!

Loaded and ready to go and there is two of us!! |
We load up and go heading to a small hotel close by the Touratech Thailand office that we want to visit the next day

A visit to Touratech Thailand |
After checking into our new home at the water Huts and spending the night it was time to go visit the Touratech Thailand office around the corner. Ronnie had got the coordinates from Simon and Lisa Thomas of 2 Ride the World so we knew just where it was. On arrival we were greeted by the owner Mr Peera who had started the Touratech Business to supply parts for his own bikes of which he has many, he told us that BMW sells about 120 bikes per year in Thailand most of them the GS model. In the show room which was still being set up there were five other bikes that he owns all nicely kitted out with parts from the Touratech Catalog. We sat and chatted for a while and I considered buying a small air pump but as I have not yet needed one and as the cost was over $200.00 I quickly talked my self out of that!! I did however buy a small mud guard extension that mounts under the number plate as I had broken the large mud guard of in India on the bad roads and the dirt was now splashing up all over the top box.

One of the many Bikes Mr Peera from Touratech rides.
This man is as passionate about it as we are |
During our visit we also managed to score T shirts each and a nice selection of Touratech Thailand stickers for our boxes.
